Entrance Requirements
Entrance Requirements for Year 1:
Level 3 or above in the HKDSE English Language and Chinese Language; AND Level 2 or above in the HKDSE Mathematics, Liberal Studies and one Elective subject (if the elective subject is not Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Combined or Integrated Science, then Mathematics Extended Part (Module 1 or 2) must be at Level 2 or above); OR Equivalent.
Remarks :
  1. A "Grade D or E" and a "Grade C or above" in an HKDSE Other Language subject (Category C subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" and "Level 3" respectively, and one Other Language subject can be counted for admission purpose.
  2. An "Attained", "Attained with Distinction (I)" and "Attained with Distinction (II)" in an HKDSE Applied Learning (ApL) subject (Category B subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2", "Level 3" and "Level 4" respectively, and a maximum of two ApL subjects (excluding ApL(C)) can be counted for admission purpose. Only the results of relevant ApL subjects will be considered in the application for Degree programmes. Relevant ApL subjects include : Automotive Technology, Aviation Studies, Building Facilities Engineering, Building Technology, Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Energy Engineering.

Entrance Requirements for Year 3:
Higher Diploma OR equivalent qualifications in a relevant area of study.

  1. Additional core modules may be required (with fee charged) for sub-degree graduates according to the educational background of individuals.

Programme Aims
This programme aims to provide comprehensive undergraduate education for secondary school graduates for pursuing a professional career in environmental engineering and management.  The programme is vocationally oriented and it aims to equip students with the professional knowledge and skills to pursue careers as practising environmental engineers and to assume professional leadership roles to serve the manpower needs of the environmental industry.  The programme has been developed in response to the demands of the industry and the community for environmental engineers to assess and control the environmental impact on infrastructure development and industrial activities, and to manage the environmental performance of enterprises in Hong Kong and Greater China.  The programme provides extensive coverage of and multi-disciplinary perspectives on various environmental and sustainability issues, which includes water and wastewater treatment technology, air and noise pollution remediation techniques, solid and hazardous waste management, energy efficiency and sustainable energies, environmental impact assessment, environmental and project management, and environmental economic.
Career Prospects
Graduates may be employed as assistant environmental engineers, environmental engineers, project engineers, environmental officers, environmental managers, and technical officers in various public and private sectors.
Articulation
Graduates are able to articulate to Master’s programmes in environmental engineering related disciplines such as Master of Science in Engineering Management offered by University of Technology Sydney and THEi.
Professional Recognition
The programme aims to train students to become professional engineers.  The programme has received the Accreditation from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

  1. Average result in 2019 refers to average score of the best 5 HKDSE subjects, including English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, Liberal Studies, and one elective subject of admitted students in 2019 for reference only.
