Entrance Requirements
Entrance Requirements for Year 3 :
  1. Higher Diploma OR equivalent sub-degree qualifications / studies in a relevant area of study; OR
  2. Relevant Professional Diploma / Advanced Diploma qualifications (i.e. Professional Diploma in Horticulture, Arboriculture and Landscape Management, Professional Diploma in Tree Management and Advanced Diploma in Tree Management and Conservation) with at least five years of relevant work experience.
Remarks :
  1. Additional core modules may be required (with fee charged) for sub-degree graduates according to the educational background of individuals.
  2. All applicants are screened and selected by an Admission and Interview Panel. All interviews are conducted in English.

Programme Aims
This programme aims to equip students with the theoretical, technical and professional skills and knowledge in horticulture and arboriculture management, landscape construction and maintenance, related sciences of plants, arboriculture and the environment, and sustainable landscape management.  It will prepare students to perform the roles and tasks related to horticultural and arboricultural supervision, tree assessment, landscape management, and development of landscapes and conservation of the environment.
Career Prospects
Upon completion of the programme, graduates may be employed as arborist, tree risk assessor, tree works supervisor, landscape supervisor, landscape and horticulture project manager, green roof and vertical greening project supervisor, turfgrass manager, horticulture and tree specialist, industry business and technical representative, horticultural or landscape consultant and educator, etc.
Professional Recognition
Graduates (with accumulated relevant work experience) are eligible to apply for memberships of :
  1. Certified Arborist of the International Society of Arboriculture (USA)
  2. Accredited Arborist of the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects
  3. Technician or Professional Membership of the Arboricultural Association (UK)
  4. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture (UK)
