The VTC fosters a vibrant and dynamic educational environment that encourages students to extend their learning beyond the classroom. In the 2024/25 academic year, nearly 4,000 students took part in diverse outbound programmes, including student exchanges, short-term study abroad, and industrial attachments, across the Mainland and Overseas Countries, such as Austria, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Through these immersive experiences, students gained invaluable global exposure and skills necessary for success in today's interconnected world. To deepen students’ understanding of the latest developments and opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), the VTC launched a series of study programmes called “GBA Explorer Trip” in 2023. In the 2024/25 academic year, 49 GBA Explorer trips were organised, attracting over 1,400 participants. These activities not only broaden students’ perspectives on the social and economic development of the Mainland, but also allow them to experience local culture and inspire their career aspirations in the GBA. To encourage students to pursue knowledge, innovation, entrepreneurship, and various forms of collaboration, VTC and Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU) jointly established the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Student Exchange Alliance” in 2020. Since its inception, the Alliance has organised a variety of activities. In 2023, VTC and SZPU co-hosted the first “Greater Bay Area International Youth Skills Competition”. Students from five institutions across Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Zhongshan, and Singapore competed in various categories. The second edition of the Competition will be held in November 2025, with the number of participating institutions increasing to eight. The event will also feature a vocational and professional education seminar, themed “AI Trends & Applications: Shaping the Future of Careers with the New Generation” focusing on key topics such as the development trends and practical applications of AI in vocational education. Beyond promoting learning through competition, this initiative also introduces new ideas for innovation in vocational and professional education. Furthermore, the VTC in partnership with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) of Singapore organised the biennial exchange event VTC-ITE International Student Seminar 2024 in Hong Kong. The three-day Seminar under the theme of “ISS Youth Change Makers” brought together over 600 young people from Singapore, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Through engaging activities such as student project exhibition and education programme, the Seminar fostered international perspectives and explored how Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET), coupled with design thinking, can empower young people to create innovative solutions for social challenges. In June 2026, the VTC and ITE will coorganise the “ITE-VTC International Student Seminar 2026” in Singapore, themed “Elevating Youth Engagement in a Changing World”, providing students with an international platform to exchange views on global issues and broaden their global perspectives. In addition, the VTC and the National Institute of Technology (KOSEN), Kumamoto College in Japan, joined hands to organise the six-day "IDEATHON 2024" student exchange programme this year. The event took place at IVE (Chai Wan) and Youth College (Kowloon Bay), gathering over 30 students from Hong Kong and Japan to participate in a series of interdisciplinary activities, including industry and cultural visits, project-based learning workshops, language sessions, and team-building exercises, to nourish students' innovative thinking and develop a broader global vision. To enrich students’ learning experiences, VTC invited distinguished scholars and experts from various professional fields across the Mainland, Thailand, Japan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Mexico during the 2024/25 academic year. They conducted master lectures and workshops, sharing valuable insights into the latest industry developments, technical know-how, and expert perspectives with students and staff. 169 (Information as of early October 2025, please refer to Admission Homepage for the latest information.)
