基礎課程文憑 Diploma of Foundation Studies 基礎課程文憑（DFS）課程設有十三個分流，提 供相關的專業訓練，既切合中六畢業生不同的 學習興趣，同時兼顧其升學及就業的需要。課程 強調專業及通用技能培訓，由香港專業教育學 院（IVE）、香港知專設計學院（HKDI）、香港資 訊科技學院（HKIIT）及青年學院（YC）開辦，全 屬政府資助。 基礎課程文憑一般修讀期為一年，設計強調專 業及通用技能培訓，有助同學發揮潛能。 畢業生可直升VTC高級文憑課程，並有機會獲豁 免修讀部分課程單元。 此外，基礎課程文憑獲公務員事務局認可，在公 務員聘任上被視為等同具備香港中學文憑考試 （HKDSE）五科（包括中國語文和英國語文科 目）第2級成績。同學亦可考慮修讀選修單元「基 礎數學（三）」，以申請需具備等同HKDSE數學 科第2級或以上成績的VTC高級文憑課程或香港 公務員職位。課程亦獲多個專業團體認可，同學 在達到個別課程的要求後，可申請成為業界學會 會員或獲授予專業證書。 The Diploma of Foundation Studies (DFS) programmes offer 13 streams, equipping Secondary 6 students with trade-related knowledge and skills tailored to their diverse interests. These programmes are designed to meet the needs of students aiming for further studies or career development. With a strong emphasis on both vocational and fundamental elements, the DFS programmes are offered by the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) and Youth College (YC), all of which are government subvented. The typical duration of the DFS is one year, emphasising professional and general skills training to help students realise their potential. DFS graduates can directly articulate to VTC’s Higher Diploma programmes in which they may also apply for module exemptions if they pursue further studies in relevant subject areas. Additionally, the DFS has been accepted by the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) as meeting the academic entry requirements of grades in the civil service, which requires Level 2 in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE). Students may consider taking the optional module "Foundation Mathematics (III)" for eligibility to apply for VTC’s Higher Diploma Programmes or related civil service jobs, which require Level 2 or above in HKDSE Mathematics as one of their general entry requirements. The programmes are also recognised by a number of professional organisations.
