WebCT can provide different communication tools. They are:
| Announcements |
It allows teacher to create and post important message in a course. |
| Chat and Whiteboard |
The Chat tool allows users, who are in the same course, to chat with each other in real time while they remain online in the same course. The Whiteboard tool allows users to draw objects, enter text, import images and create slide. |
| Discussions |
It allows students to post discussion messages that other students in the same course can view and reply the message. |
| Roster |
It allows course members to view the profiles of other course members, e.g. instructor, teaching assistant, student, group members. |
| Who's Online |
Students can chat with others who are logged on to WebCT. |
Remarks
As resolved at 12th Meeting of the Learning and Teaching Steering Committee (LTSC), the Mail function inside WebCT is disabled w.e.f Aug 28, 2010.
Please note that assignment submission notification will not be affected.
