Training Facilities and Other Supportive Service

 

Training Facilities:

   The training programmes are planned and designed through research in local manpower requirement in industry and commerce. There are 16 well-equipped training workshops, 4 classrooms, and other special rooms such as library, gymnasium, drawing room and audio-visual aids rooms, multimedia language laboratory, telephony room, computer rooms, ceramic workshop etc., offering a variety of full-time and part-time training in Office Practice,Office Computing & Practice,Computer and Network Installation, Basic Catering Service, Machine Sewing, Packaging Service, General Service Work, Commercial and Retailing Service, Logistics Service, Hotel Room-keeping Service, Massage Service,Printing and Interior Decoration. Training on both full-time and part-time attendance will receive practical instructions supported by theoretical tutoring.

 

Training Method :
     

   The Centre adopts a flexible approach in Vocational Training known as the "Modules of Employable Skills" which has proven to be effective in training people with disabilities. In essence, the system first identifies the profile of a job in industry or commerce; this is then broken down into essential learning elements, the sequential grouping of which forms a modular training unit. This outcome of the modular unit is the acquisition of an employable skill.

 

Supportive Service :

The Centre also provides the following services to the clients:

(a) Counselling in Training and Work Adjustment,

(b) Casework Service,

(c) Job Placement Referral,

(d) Nursing Service

(e) Occupational Therapy and

(f) Transportation Service.
