Offered by IVE, HKDI and SBI, the Higher Diploma, Diploma and Foundation Diploma programmes are designed for Secondary 7 and Secondary 5 graduates with different entry requirement.
Higher Diploma courses are usually of 3 years duration. The 'Fly High' Higher Diploma courses (3 or 4 years) were first introduced by IVE and SBI in 2004 with multiple admission and graduation points to suit the different needs of students. The Diploma courses are 2-year programmes while the Foundation Diploma courses are 1-year programmes.
For Secondary 7 graduates with 1 AL subject at Grade E or 2 AS subjects at Grade E, they may apply for the 2-year Higher Diploma / 'Fly High' Higher Diploma courses or Level 3 of the 4-year 'Fly-High' Higher Diploma programmes.
For Secondary 5 graduates with 5 subjects at Grade E/ Level 2 (including English Language, applicants taking HKCEE English Language in 2006 or befire should attain (Syll. B) Grade E / (Syll. A) Grade C) or equivalent, they may apply for the 3-year Higher Diploma / 'Fly High' Higher Diploma courses, the 2-year Diploma courses and Level 2 of the 4-year 'Fly High' Higher Diploma courses.
For those who have completed Secondary 5, they may apply for the 1-year Foundation Diploma courses, and with that qualification they may apply for progression to Higher Diploma or Diploma courses. Besides, they may also apply for Level 1 of the 4-year Higher Diploma or 'Fly High' Higher Diploma courses.
In addition, there are also some 1-year Higher Diploma courses which are designed for the IVE Diploma or Higher Certificate holders.
Higher Diploma graduates may progress to the top-up degree courses offered by prestigious universities in collaboration with SHAPE under VTC.
