Member Institutions

At VTC, we provide a comprehensive system of vocational education and training to meet the need of industry for well-educated and well-trained manpower at the higher diploma, diploma, and craft levels, as well as to satisfy the aspirations of students at post-secondary 7, post-secondary 5 and post-secondary 3 levels. We also provide courses for people in employment to improve their skills and help those with disabilities to learn employable skills through our training programmes.

Our wide variety of courses are offered via our 13 member institutions as follows:

Institute of Professional Education And Knowledge (PEAK)
 

Institute of Professional Education And Knowledge (PEAK)  is the continuous professional development section of the VTC.In addition to the programmes specially designed for the working population to attain professional and academic qualifications, PEAK also provides corporate training for global and local organisations.

 
School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE)
 

In collaboration with well-recognised overseas and local universities, VTC offers through its School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) one to two years "top-up" degree programmes in Hong Kong to the VTC Higher Diploma graduates who wish to pursue further studies. Upon accomplishing the programmes, students will be awarded with a bachelor degree by the respective universities.

 
Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE)
 

The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) offers through its nine campuses full-time and part-time courses for secondary 7, 5 and 3 graduates as well as people in employment seeking to update or upgrade their skills and knowledge. Courses offered range from higher diploma / diploma / foundation diploma to higher certificate / certificate covering nine disciplines.

 
Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI)
 

The establishment of the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) in 2007 is an important milestone in the strategic development of VTC.  With a rich heritage in design education through the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), HKDI brings together the strengths of various departments to provide quality foundation and life long learning design education for post secondary 5 and post secondary 7 students. The first intake of HKDI starts from 2007.  Currently programmes are delivered in the related IVE campuses and a new purpose-built central campus is being erected and planned to commence operation in 2010/11.

 
School of Business and Information Systems (SBI)
 

Operated on a self-funded basis, the School of Business and Information Systems (SBI) offers a number of Higher Diploma programmes in support of the Government's policy to provide more higher diploma places for senior secondary school leavers.

 
Pro-Act by VTC
 

Pro-Act by VTC provides practical training and professional development solutions to meet the needs of industries and individuals. It offers a diverse mix of programmes and services, ranging from industry-specific training and development programmes, training schemes, trade tests, to corporate training and consultant services. Pro-Act serves as a trusted development partner to both individuals and corporations in various industries.

 
Hospitality Industry Training and Development Centre (HITDC)
 

Hospitality Industry Training and Development Centre (HITDC) is the forerunner in Hong Kong to provide professional training to secondary school leavers who are interested in the hospitality industry. The state-of-the-art training facilities provide almost every aspect of practical training including western food preparation, western bakery and pastry, western and Chinese food and beverage service, front of fice, housekeeping and tour guide and service culture.

 
Chinese Cuisine Training Institute (CCTI)
 

Chinese Cuisine Training Institute (CCTI) provides both full-time and part-time courses to beginners and practising chefs in the industry who wish to obtain or upgrade their qualifi cations in Chinese Cuisine.

 
Maritime Services Training Institute (MSTI)
 

Located at Tai Lam Chung, Tuen Mun, Maritime Services Training Institute (MSTI) provides a wide range of courses for new entrants, local and foreign in-service seafarers and employees of marine-related and shore-based industries. At present, MSTI is the sole institution approved by the authorities to provide various specific mandatory training courses as required by the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW 95), Merchant Shipping Regulation, Shipping and Port Control Regulation and Factories and Industrial Undertakings Regulation.

 
Youth College
 

The Youth College offers Diploma in Vocational Education for Secondary Three to Secondary Five graduates, and also Foundation Diploma programmes for Secondary Five graduates to acquire knowledge and skills for further studies and employment.

 
Integrated Vocational Development Centre (IVDC)
 

Integrated Vocational Development Centre (IVDC) provides a variety of programmes to meet the training needs of people wih diverse education attainment and background, to enhance their employability and promote lifelong learning.

 
Yeo Chei Man Senior Secondary School (YCM)
 

The Yeo Chei Man Senior Secondary School introduces a "dual progression route" for senior secondary students to maximize their progression opportunities. Students may either sit for the HKCEE and HKALE through the mainstream or choose the vocational route to apply for IVE/HKDI/SBI Higher Diploma / Diploma courses using their internal assessment results.

 
Shine Skills Centre
 

The Shine Skills Centre provides vocational training to people with disabilities who are aged 15 or above in order to enhance their employment prospects.
