BA Discipline had proudly invited Joseph Wong Wing Ping GBS, JP (王永平) to have a candid dialogue with students of BA at SBI on 24 March 2009. Mr. Wong was the Secretary for Education, Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology and the Secretary for the Civil Service in the HKSAR.

Mr. Wong was amongst the highest ranking officers in the government. He is undoubtedly a successful person. He shared some of his wisdoms with students who attended the seminar:
-
“Do it because it is worth doing, not because it is a routine in the past.”
-
“University graduates have been trained with higher level skills to survive difficult time. They don’t need government’s pampering or assistance in finding a job.”
-
“The admission system to local universities has mostly determined the assessment system in the education system. Unless some other ways are found to replace examination, it will continue to be used for the sake of fairness to everybody.”
-
“Students should respect their career and love working in their career.”
-
“The will to act is more difficult than the will to know.”
“The simplest wisdom on work is to obey your own conscience.”
