The Student Affairs Office has been organizing a series of distinguished leadership sharing programmes from March to April 2009. Mrs. Anson Chan, the former Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR, was invited as the first speaker of the programme. Over 250 IVE (TY) and SBI students attended the session held at SBI.
“Have you ever read the Basic Law?” Mrs. Chan began her speech by stating that youngsters should pay attention not only to the government, but also laws that are governing society. During the one-hour presentation, Mrs. Chan repeatedly encouraged students to concern about politics and treasure the valuable rights and freedom of Hong Kong citizens.
At the end of the session, Mrs. Chan also shared the light side of her life such as reasons for early retirement and skills in dealing with ups and downs at life. Afterwards, Mrs. Chan continued to have in-depth discussions with selected participants during dinner at IVE (Tsing Yi).
