Objectives
The competition, jointly organized by the Rotary Club Metropolitan Hong Kong and the Department of Business Administration of IVE (Chai Wan), aims to enlighten the public awareness on our theme “Marketing Green Ages”, which will be covered by the Liberal Studies under the new upper secondary curriculum and at the same time promote their social service responsibilities.
Target Participants
All Secondary 3 to 7 students in Hong Kong are eligible to participate in the competition. Entry can be made by individual or in a group of 2 persons.
Categories
There will be two categories, namely “Multi-Media” and “Graphic Design”:
- The Multi-Media category accepts animation effects with proportion at 4:3. File format can be GIF or SWF with a size of less than 5MB.
- The Graphic Design category accepts photos, graphics and/or hand drawn pictures with proportion at 4:3. File format can be JPG、PNG、BMP or PDF.
Regulations
- Each individual participant or participating team is allowed to submit more than one entry. Language on the e-card can be Chinese or English.
- All works must be the participant's own and never before published.
- All works submitted should not be returned to the participants.
- If the participant’s work involves adoption of photos, graphics, pictures, music or sound effects which are protected by copyright, the applicant must notify the organizer in writing.
- The copyright of all submitted works from applicants will be belonged to the organizer. The organizer reserves the right to use, copy or distribute all or part of the applicants’ works for promotion purpose.
- The judges' decision will be final. No appeal will be allowed.
- The organizer reserves the right to change these rules without further announcement to the applicants.
Awards
Prizes for “Multi-Media” and “Graphic Design” categories:
- Champion: Trophy, cash plus non-cash items for value HK$4,000
- 1st runner up: Trophy, cash plus non-cash items for value HK$3,000
- 2nd runner up: Trophy, cash plus non-cash items for value HK$2,500
- Merit Awards: Coupon and/or non-cash items for value HK$4,000
School participation award: Trophy will be awarded to school with more than 10 participants.
Workshops
Workshops will be provided to all applicants on 24 October, 21 November and 12 December 2009 (Saturday) at 10:00am – 12:00pm. They aim to enhance participants’ creativity, graphic design skills, and to familiarize them with professional design software. Tutors and IVE student helpers from HD in Advertising and Global Brand Management voluntaries team will be the mentors in providing guidance and assistance during the workshop. A Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to the best participants of workshops.

Submission Method :
Application forms should be completed and submitted in person or by post to “Ms Ho, Department of Business Administration,
1/F., Administrative Block, 30 Shing Tai Road, Chai Wan, Hong Kong” together with the design work in a CD before the submission deadline.

Winners’ Works : The organizer will publish the winners’ works to the public through the media to promote the theme of green living and acknowledge the prestigious achievement of the winners.
