    I want to try more interesting things first before deciding on my future. Are there any suitable courses for me?


     

    The Diploma in Vocational Education (DVE) progamme offered by Youth College provides 10 specialisations for Secondary 3 and 4 students including Business and Services, Engineering as well as Design and Technology. The programme adopts credit-based modules. Students aiming at future employment may choose relevant modules to obtain an award of the Basic Craft Certificate (BCC) or Technician Foundation Certificate (TFC). Employment referral services are also offered to assist students in finding suitable jobs in their industries. Students with the DVE award will be eligible to apply for VTC Higher Diploma courses to pursue further study.


    I would like to work in the catering, hotel and tourism industry. Are there any short-term training courses for me?


     

    Certificate courses in Chinese Cuisine offered by the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute (CCTI) and Certificate courses in Hospitality, Tourism and Hotel offered by the Hospitality Industry Training and Development Centre (HITDC) impart students with the necessary practical skills and theoretical knowledge to begin a career in the hotel and tourism industry. Students can find jobs right after completing the relevant courses. 


    I am quite interested in the maritime industry. Does VTC provide relevant training courses in this field?


    Give the Junior General Purpose Rating Course offered by the Maritime Services Training Institute (MSTI) a try.Graduates from the course are eligible to work in the marine-related and shore-based industry.  


    Can I pursue further studies after finishing the Diploma in Vocational Education (DVE) programme?


    Yes. DVE award holders who want to pursue further studies are eligible to apply for Higher Diploma Courses offered by VTC member institutions. 


    How much is the tuition fee? What if my family can’t afford it?


     

    Under the Government's 12-year free education policy, local Secondary 3 school leavers admitted to government subvented full-time Post Secondary 3 Courses# of VTC will normally enjoy 3 years of free education. Secondary 4 school leavers admitted to these types of courses will normally enjoy 2 years of free education.
