    Chan Chun Wing

"The programme consists of industry knowledge, general skills and techniques, serves to enhance my all-round development!"
Student of Diploma in Vocational Education (DVE) Programme

"I don’t fit well into the traditional teaching method adopted by mainstream secondary schools, and therefore I took part in teen’s programme and later enrolled in the Youth College studying in the DVE programme in Business. It has been 2 years since I have signed up for the programme. During my time there, I have acquired a wealth of industry knowledge, I have also been taught with essential business etiquette and at the same time it enhances my social and communication skills, which would benefit me a lot in study and later on in my career. I am hoping to continue my studies and having an opportunity to progress to IVE Higher Diploma, studying with advertising-related higher diploma, and later to successfully landing a job in the industry."

    Chen Tsz Nga

"I started to learn proactively when I found the programme of my interest."
Current student of the Diploma in Vocational Education (Building Services Engineering)

"I was keenly interested in the maintenance of electrical appliances since I was young. Upon completion of  Secondary 3, with my mother’s encouragement, I enrolled in the "Building Services Engineering" stream of the DVE programme in Youth College. I have more initiative to study than before due to my interests. The curriculum covers various aspects of different fields and I’ve found that it is practical and interesting. I plan to pursue further studies with the Higher Diploma course of IVE and articulate to the top-up degree programme in future."

    Sam LAU

"The DVE programme fits me like a glove!"
Current student of Diploma in Vocational Education (Electrical Engineering)

"Upon completion of Secondary 3, I landed a job in a logistic company, and with no specialized skills, I live off of a very low income. It comes to my realization that without specialized skills, there are always limits in career development.

I have a keen interest in maintenance and operation of electrical appliances since I was a kid, with that reason I enrolled in the DVE in Electrical Engineering. The programme is highly flexible in terms of the credit-based modules, which perfectly caters to my needs. Initially, I intended to study one year only, but with the potential and interest I later uncovered during the programme as well as attaining my ever first ‘A’, this definitely boosts up my confidence. Therefore, I decided to stay on for one more year to finish off the Technician Foundation Certificate (TFC) before launching my career."

"Professional qualification are important for employment!"
-Graduate of Diploma in Vocational Education (DVE) Programme
-Currently a student of Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at IVE(Tsing Yi)

"After completing Secondary 4, I once worked for a while and found that there was little room for future development for secondary school graduates. I understood that professional qualifications were essential for additional career opportunities. Therefore, I enrolled in the “Air-conditioning and Refrigeration” stream of the DVE programme. The programme was practical. Through it, I quickly acquired professional knowledge and techniques. More importantly, it helped me regain confidence and interest in learning. I was recently admitted to the IVE Higher Diploma Course, where I’m now striving for my future!"
