Senior Secondary Adapted ApL(ID) Courses

ApL courses are elective subjects in the senior secondary curriculum which complement other senior secondary subjects by offering studies with stronger elements of practical learning linked to broad professional and vocational fields.  Under the current Senior Secondary academic structure, students with intellectual disabilities (ID) can opt to take a maximum of two adapted ApL courses as elective subjects in Secondary 5 and 6.
Programme features

  1. 1. Adopt interactive teaching and provide practical training in a simulated learning environment

  2. 2. Focus on developing generic skills and nurturing students’ vocational knowledge

  3. 3. Programmes tailored to individual’s needs with traceable learning progress.

  4. 4. Adopt continuous and diversified performance assessment to evaluate students’ learning performance

Students must apply through their school for enrolment in adapted ApL courses. Course schedule and venues can be flexibly arranged to meet the needs of the school.

The total programme fee is HK$17,100 (Academic Year 2016/18) ( Subsidised by Education Bureau and respective schools.  Students are not required to pay for the programme fees.)
