Maritime Services Training Institute (MSTI) provides comprehensive pre-employment and in-service training to marine-related industries. The Institute has a mock-up wheelhouse, a survival drill tank, an engine model display room, a ship stability laboratory / model exhibition hall, classrooms for first aid & shipboard practice training, 3 simulation (GMDSS, radar & ship handling and liquid cargo handling) systems and mock-up ship structures for fire fighting & seamanship practices. Its PC & language laboratory can be used for practices of cargo stowage & ship stability calculation.

In 2007, MSTI launched the Higher Diploma Course in Maritime Studies and conducted the pilot run of Whole Person Development Programme. It would, in the future, continue to develop courses to meet the local & international legislative requirements for mandatory safety and seafarers' training.
