Progression Pathways for Higher Diploma Graduates
- Degree courses in the local universities by applying through the non-JUPAS Admissions Scheme;
- Top-up degree programmes offered by SHAPE in collaboration with local and overseas universities; or
- Degree courses offered by overseas universities.
VTC Higher Diploma qualification is recognised by many local and overseas universities. Our graduates can normally be admitted to second year of undergraduate programmes. Over the last 2 years, more than 50% of Higher Diploma graduates who chose to pursue further studies were admitted to degree programmes offered by local universities / institutions.
School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE)
SHAPE was established in September 2003 in response to the need for providing more further study opportunities for VTC's Higher Diploma graduates. Full-time and part-time top-up degree programmes are offered locally in collaboration with internationally renowned local and overseas universities. Students can normally complete their programmes within a period of one to two years. In the academic year 2005 / 06, over 37% graduates pursued further studies through this pathway.

SHAPE has now established collaboration with 10 local and overseas universities offering some 30 top-up degree programmes. An overview of the top-up degree programmes offered in the academic year 2008/09 is as follows:
