Dear Students,
Starting out as a new student in an unfamiliar environment can be a daunting experience, especially when progressing from secondary to tertiary education. The Peer Mentorship Programme (PMP) has been introduced in the Tsing Yi Nexus since 2002 to help new students, playing the role as mentees to adapt to the new environment and establish a supportive network quickly. Student mentors will also benefit from the training in motivational and leadership skills they acquire.
In the Tsing Yi Nexus, each academic department has a PMP coordinator and regular activities are conducted for mentors and mentors to get together. The campus Student Affairs Office also plays an important role in supporting the PMP initiative.
The success of the PMP initiative depends on your active participation. I hope you will take the time to read the content of this website so that you are familiar with the resources that are made available to you.
If you have any queries about the PMP, please do not hesitate to contact me or your departmental PMP coordinator. You can find our contact details in the ˇ§Contact Usˇ¨ web page.
Best wishes,
Dr Leung Ying Keung
TYN PMP Co-ordinator.
