The course is the most wonderful moment of my academic life that I never forget. The lecturers, technical staff, course curriculum, and lab practice had given me a solid theoretical knowledge and practical skill.

The course provides a comprehensive learning environment. In particular, the network equipments in NTC give me a good exposure before I enter the profession. I had also learned a lot of practical skills through the department's Cisco Network Academy Program.

The laboratories are well-equipped and the lectures are of high quality. I was given the opportunity to work with companies like Systek and SUN Microsystems while in school. The experience gained from such industrial placement is valuable for my career. Now I am furthering my education studying the part-time BA (Hons) in Computing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

This course provided me with a thorough grounding in the theoretical and practical aspects of computing. When I graduated, I had a strong foundation in the design, implementation, and administration of networked computer systems and databases. This definitely helps me in my IT career.

The CSA course is well-rounded and the subjects are very practical.

I was taught not only fundamentals such as programming and computer architecture but also state-of-the-art concepts like object oriented analysis and design. I learned how to analyze, design, develop and test software.

The technical skills I have learned in IVE has helped me a lot in my first job. I was able to pick up very quickly.

The course not only trained me on the fundamental skills of software engineering, it also gave me valuable opportunities to apply what I have learnt. The course is really helpful for my career as well as for further studies.

The lecturers presented clearly and the lecture materials are easy to understand. I learned to use an analytical mind for problem solving. I have also learned practical skills in different programming languages, data structure and algorithm, design and implementation, and object oriented technology.

After graduating from VTC Technical College, I got an offer from University of Greenwich to enter the final year of the course BSc. in Applied Statistics with Business Management.
After that, I studied for another degree in Management with a scholarship at University of Surrey and a Master degree in Statistics with Application in Medicine at University of Southampton.
The Applied Statistics techniques that I learnt from my HD in Applied Statistics and Computing are very useful and practical. It not only provided me a solid foundation for my further studies in UK. It also helps and supports me in learning new technical skills for my current job.

After graduating from IVE, I joined AC Nielsen (China) Ltd., the biggest marketing research company. After spending nine months with AC Nielsen, I was promoted to Senior Assistant in charge of a database system which provides retail marketing information to clients.

The statistical knowledge and the technical skills that I learned from the Higher Diploma in Applied Statistics and Computing are practical and very useful to my present job in data and information analysis.

The present job nature is interesting and practical as all official statistics such as unemployment rate, consumer price index (CPI), gross domestic product (GDP), birth rate, etc. are all compiled by our department.

The knowledge learnt from the Higher Diploma in Applied Statistics and Computing enable me to tackle any statistics problem of my daily work. If you find that the course suits your interest and you want to pursue a job that is interesting and challenging, the pathway of studying statistics should be a good choice.
