The Engineering students were delighted to introduce the solar-powered vehicle (SOPHIE) to the Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau Tang-wah, JP, at IVE Tsing Yi on 12 July 2010. Mr Yau was not only keen on the operation of the SOPHIE, but also the experience shared by our young developers. During the visit, Mr Yau also shared his views on green technologies and green living with our students.

Mr Yau had an enjoyable time at IVE Tsing Yi and had fun by having a ride on SOPHIE the second. With an average speed of 40 kilometers per hour, Mr. Yau was impressed and experienced that going green doesn’t mean going slow!
