BSM Teachers and Students Ran and Worked at

Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2009

8 February 2009

Once again, the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Race 2009 has become the mecca of BSM teachers and students. This year six teachers from BSM, 12 students from Higher Diploma in Business Promotion and Event Management (BPEM) and Higher Diploma in Enterprise Management (EM) as well as nine BPEM alumni of four generations finished their races with cheers and high spirit. The months of training and preparation proved to be rewarding.

While these 27 runners were racing on the track, the other 30 BPEM students were working quietly behind the scene as helpers on the day. Some wore the Maco costume to cheer runners at the starting point, while others helped register the winners at the finishing point. These students showed high level of dedications and responsibility and as a result, they were highly commended by the organizer, the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA). “I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all of your effort on the Marathon Expo and Race Day. You all did a great job! I hope that you all enjoy our event and also will help in your career” Michelle Wong, Marketing Manager of HKAAA.

The ex-Executive Director of HKAAA Miss Anita Yiu, who was the official in charge at the finishing point at Victoria Park on that day, also gave a big hand to the BPEM students who worked there. She wrote to the student helpers “Without your concerted effort and sincere hospitality, the event could not be so successful. I have heard numerous positive responses from the leaders, sure the wonderful job done by your team is crucial.”

Students cheer for their success after finishing the race.
