With the aim of developing the potentials and promoting the physical, psychological and social well-being of young people, the Student Development Office (SDO) is committed to providing student-centred services, developing students to be personally effective and goal-directed individuals, as well as to enhancing the enjoyment of their campus life.

SDO facilitates students in their whole-person development through the following services: Structured Whole Person Development Programme, Physical Education, Student Counselling Service and Training and Consultation for Student Bodies.

Structured Whole Person Development Programme

The programme aims to enhance students' self-image, self-confidence and improve their EQ, as well as, equip them with appropriate transferable skills, attitudes and values in the context of Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Physical Education and Activities

Physical Education Instructors provide classes on physical fitness and varieties of sport courses to cultivate healthy lifestyle among students. They coach sport teams and facilitate the students to organize activities and competitions.

Student Counselling Service

Student Counsellors are registered social workers who provide professional services to help students handle academic studies, interpersonal relationships, emotional disturbances, etc. and enabling them to attain personal growth. Services rendered through personal and group counselling sessions are treated in strict confidentiality.

The counsellors also help students to understand their career interest. Job-hunting skills workshops, mock interview sessions, career talks and visits are organized strengthen students?competitiveness. Students may pay regular visits to the Learning and Development Centre to browse through career materials such as job opportunities, job-hunting skills and self-understanding programmes for self-enhancement.

Training and Consultation for Student Bodies

SDO renders consultation services to student bodies and provides leadership training to student leaders, such as activity planning and financial management skills.
