    Manager-In-Charge
    Pro-Act Training and Development Centre (Jewellery)

    Major Duties:
    (a) To take charge of the overall management of the Centre, and take a lead in the strategic development;
    (b) To take an active role in the development, validation and accreditation of programmes;
    (c) To partner with the Youth College and play the academic leadership role for the Diploma in Vocational Education (DVE) Programme(s) and ensure a quality learning experience for its students;
    (d) To partner with the Hong Kong Design Institute on the provision of the Higher Diploma and Top-up Degree Programme(s) and ensure a quality learning experience for its students, and also play a key role to support manpower development of the jewellery, timepiece, and eyewear industries, and the latest development in the cultural and creative business sector;
    (e) To maintain close contacts with industry, professional bodies, to liaise and meet with members of the industry and public in representation of the Centre;
    (f) To support the work of the related Training Boards and General Committees and to follow up with the advice received on programme planning, curriculum development and quality assurance of the programmes offered by the Centre;
    (g) To explore new opportunities and assist in the development of new services / programmes for the Centre, such as standardisation and testing, as well as in-service training programmes; and
    (h) To perform teaching duties and supervise student projects where necessary.
     
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree in Product Design, Three Dimensional Design, Jewellery Design, Applied Arts or  or equivalent; preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
    (b) At least 5 years’ relevant experience in design at an appropriate level of responsibility;
    (c) Good experience in programme design and development in the area of product and jewellery design, academic administration and leading industry-based activities;
    (d) Good knowledge and experience in quality assurance, programme validation and accreditation in the VTC, preferably including Project-Based Learning (PBL); and
    (e) Proactive attitude, strong initiative and the ability to work independently and effectively in teams.
       
    Notes:
    (1) The post is at the rank of “Senior Lecturer”.
    (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (3) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
