The Vocational Training Council (VTC) is grateful for the continued support of Hong Kong Disneyland in developing its students. This year, Hong Kong Disneyland again awarded scholarships worth HK$530,000 to around 70 students who study in hotel, tourism and catering service, entertainment and creative industry, and the newly-added engineering programmes. The scholarships enable students to pursue their study and career plans and nurture creative talents.
The awardees came from the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute (CCTI) and the Hotel Industry Training and Development Centre (HITDC). They were selected through selection process from group discussions to questions and answers sessions. Candidates were required to prepare dishes or present creative works on site to showcase their talents. All of them possessed clear career goals and outstanding leadership abilities in addition to good results in studies and extracurricular activities. Each of them was awarded scholarships ranging from HK$3,000 to HK$10,000 where some would even be provided attachment in Hong Kong Disneyland.
Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the major industry partners of the VTC who makes available multifarious projects for student practice. The VTC hopes to continue the collaboration for nurturing more young professionals to promote industry development.
