Tourism Studies
Introduction to tourism including
tourism infrastructure, superstructure, tourism products, tour guiding and escorting
Basic reservation procedures
Familiarization tours of Hong Kong
English and Putonghua for Leisure and Tourism
Social English and Putonghua
Preparing commentary and presentation skills
Job-related English and Putonghua for leisure and tourism industry

Importance of quality customer service and understanding customers’ needs and wants

Employment opportunities: Graduates from this course may be employed by the leisure or tourism industry at the junior level. Upon completion of the Diploma in Travel and Tourism, graduates may pursue career as reservation and ticketing clerk, tour guide, tour escort, travel assistant and customer service officer in tourism industry and related field. Graduates from Diploma in Leisure Studies may pursue career as recreation assistant in clubhouse, activities coordinator in community center, membership clubhouse and related industries. Graduates from Diploma in Hotel and Catering, and Hotel Chinese Catering Studies may pursue career in the hotel industry as receptionist, concierge, junior cook and waiter. After further operational experience and study, they may be able to rise to positions at supervisory or management level.
