Programme Aims
This programme aims at helping students to develop, through a balanced curriculum with generic and vocational knowledge and skills, and structured whole person development and competencies in a specific trade so as to enhance their opportunities for employment and / or further studies. The Digital Electronics Technology Programme covers fundamental knowledge and practical skills required in electronics, computer and digital systems as well as the telecommunications and surveillance industry. Graduates may choose to seek employment or further their studies.
Please Note : Only Technician Foundation Certificate (TFC) and Diploma in Vocational Education (DVE) will be awarded.

Prospects
Graduates may be employed as Technicians, Engineering Assistants, Apprentices, Customer Service and Technical Supporters, Technical Sales and Merchandising Assistants. They may work in the areas of computer systems and equipment, firmware products and embedded systems, robotics and automated systems, healthcare electronics, office and home automation, Internet service providers, mobile communications systems, environmental lighting systems, intelligent domestic surveillance systems, digital broadcasting systems, audio video and lighting control.
Articulation
Upon satisfying the credit requirements for a specific award, students will be awarded with the Technician Foundation Certificate (TFC) or Diploma in Vocational Education (DVE) award for employment or further studies. Students who have successfully completed the designated modules and attained DVE award can apply for admission to Higher Diploma programmes offered by VTC under the new senior secondary curriculum.
Students who choose to exit with a TFC award for employment may pursue the DVE award through part-time study.
