Students of VTC subvented or self-financed programmes may apply for the following financial assistance schemes :
* Students may apply for the "VTC Fee Remission Scheme (FR)" if no grant is offered under the "Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP)".

Scholarships and Award Schemes
The VTC receives generous donations of scholarships from various parties including the HKSAR Government, industry, professional bodies and individuals. Scholarships totalling HK$20 million were awarded to some 1,700 students in the academic year of 2012/13 in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
Besides, starting from the academic year 2013/14, the VTC has set up the “Admission Scholarship Schemes” for new students of Degree and Higher Diploma programmes on the basis of their Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination results. Please click here for details of the scheme.
The HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund/Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund
In 2012/13 over 1,200 VTC students were awarded the scholarships ranging from HK$10,000 to HK$40,000. Award categories include: Outstanding Performance Scholarship, Talent Development Scholarship, Reaching Out Award and Best Progress Award.
The Alistair Harvey Foundation Scholarship Scheme
This scheme provides final-year full-time students of Higher Diploma programmes in the Applied Science, Engineering or Information Technology disciplines with financial assistance of up to £20,000 a year in order to further their studies at universities in the UK. The scholarships cover their tuition and accommodation fees, living expenses and air fares for two academic years.
So far 82 IVE students have been awarded scholarships under the scheme. Of these, nearly 70 have already completed their undergraduate studies in the UK, while 40 have obtained Master's degrees in either the UK or Hong Kong. One of them has completed her PhD, and three are completing their Doctorate studies.
Mr Yeung Kai-yin Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship enables needy students to participate in study visits and overseas exchange programmes, thus broadening their exposure and horizons and enhancing their holistic development. Each student receives up to HK$10,000.
Dr. Ng Tat-lun Memorial Outstanding Students Award Scheme
This scheme aims to recognise students on the strength of their academic results, leadership abilities, personal qualities, active participation in extracurricular activities and contribution to community service. Every year, nine students from different disciplines were nominated by their respective department and each received an award grant of HK$10,000.
Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarships
Funded by generous donations from more than 200 industrialists and employers, the scheme benefits VTC students who perform outstandingly well during their industrial attachments. Altogether 150 students each received scholarship awards of HK$2,500 in AY2012/13.
