Application Information

THEi AY 2018/19 Degree Programmes (Year-3 Entry)

The following section presents the information of THEi Degree Programmes (Year-3 Entry) offered in September 2018.

Programme application for academic year 2018/19 is closed. Information of programmes to be offered in academic year 2019/20 will be announced in late November 2018.

General Entrance Requirements

  • Higher Diploma OR equivalent qualifications in a relevant area of study.
  • Additional core modules may be required for sub-degree graduates according to the educational background of individuals.
  • All applicants are screened and selected by an Admission and Interview Panel. All interviews are conducted in English.

Application Procedures

  • Application Period
    24 November 2017 to 22 April 2018
    (Late Application Period : Start from 23 April 2018, late applicants will receive individual notifications for the admission interview and the offer result.)
    Submit application for THEi Full-time / Part-time Degree (Year 3 Entry) programmes via the “VTC Web-based Admissions System”
  • Interview
    January 2018 onwards
  • Announcement of Firm Offers / Conditional Offers and Registration
    February 2018 onwards
    Successful applicants may receive the offer and registration documents. Please follow the instruction on the documents and complete the registration procedures before the stipulated deadline


Tuition Fees

The tuition fees are charged according to the number of credit points taken during a semester and subject to annual review.  The tuition fees for the 2018/19 academic year are from HK$2,435 to HK$2,920 per credit point.  Additional core module(s) may be required prior to commencement or during Year 3 study. Additional tuition fees will be charged according to the number of credit points taken, if any.

Financial Assistance

Students may apply for the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP), the Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS) and the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS) administered by the HKSAR Government’s Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA).  Eligibility of individual students for specific schemes is subject to the WFSFAA’s assessment and confirmation.

Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme for Self-financing Undergraduate Studies in Hong Kong


From the 2017/18 academic year, the Government provides a non-means-tested annual subsidy for eligible students pursuing full-time locally-accredited local and non-local self-financing undergraduate (including top-up degree) programmes in Hong Kong (save for those enrolled in places already supported under the  Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors) offered by eligible institutions. For details and eligibility of the subsidy scheme, please visit the Concourse for Self-financing Post-secondary Education website.
