Entrance Requirements for Year 3:
Higher Diploma OR equivalent qualifications in a relevant area of study.
This programme aims to develop students to be highly skilled in designing and managing building services systems and be problem-solvers to meet ever-changing industry challenges, which involves complex building technology, innovative building design, and green building assessment. It also aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills of modern building services technologies, with emphasis on using projects and practical experience as the main learning and teaching strategy to reflect general industry practice.
Building Services Engineers are in high demand in the job market and employment prospects are very good. This programme provides the academic base for a professional career with various types of private and public employers, including consulting and contracting firms, construction companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, building developers and owners, facility and property management companies, power and utilities companies, and government departments. The analytical and problem-solving skills learnt are also useful in other areas like finance and business management. Some graduates may consider further study through master or doctoral degree programmes in local or overseas institutions. The knowledge and skills from this programme will enable our graduates to pursue broader career interests and become highly adaptable.
The programme aims to educate and train students to become professional engineers. It will seek professional accreditation for Corporate Membership from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).
