Discipline Overview of Hotel, Service and Tourism Studies

The hospitality and tourism industry is one of the major pillars of the Hong Kong economy. Being Asia’s World City, the level of professionalism and service standards required by the industry is constantly evolving in Hong Kong. Hotel, Service and Tourism Studies (HoSTS) Discipline offers industry relevant programmes which are supported by excellent facilities and well-balanced curricula. With a practical approach to teaching and learning, students are required to undertake industrial attachment to gain real work experience in their relevant studies. After graduation, students can pursue further studies or have a head start in their chosen career field.

 

 

2+1 International Track

 

The “2+1 International Track” is a through-train pre-enrolment scheme, jointly set up by School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) and the UK partner universities. All newly admitted Higher Diploma (HD) students of the HoSTS Discipline will be offered an 2+1 International Track, which affirms a smooth articulation to a relevant top-up Degree programme offered by designated partner university upon successful completion of their HD. The degree programme has been accredited by Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) as equivalent to a local degree programme.
