The following section presents the information of Part-time Day Programme offered in September 2018. Information of programmes to be offered in academic year 2019/20 will be announced in May 2019.
 
This programme joined the "Engineering Training Subsidy Scheme".
Please note: Registered Apprentice and students sponsored by Employer / Construction Industry Council (CIC) are not eligible to apply for this Subsidy Scheme.

Entrance Requirements
Holder of S6 (NSS) Qualification :
Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics; OR VTC Foundation Diploma (Level 3) / Diploma of Foundation Studies with successful completion of Foundation Mathematics III; OR VTC Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education with successful completion of Mathematics 3G; OR Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin with successful completion of Mathematics Plus; OR Equivalent.
Remarks :
  1. Holders of VTC Foundation Diploma (Level 3) / Diploma of Foundation Studies / VTC Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education / Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin without successful completion of the relevant optional Mathematics module, should possess HKDSE Mathematics at Level 2 or above.
  2. An "Attained", "Attained with Distinction (I)" and "Attained with Distinction (II)" in an HKDSE Applied Learning (ApL) subject (Category B subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2", "Level 3" and "Level 4" respectively, and a maximum of two ApL subjects (excluding ApL(C)) can be counted for admission purpose.
  3. A "Grade D or E" and a "Grade C or above" in an HKDSE Other Language subject (Category C subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" and "Level 3" respectively, and one Other Language subject can be counted for admission purpose.
  4. Holders of Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) award upon successful completion of prescribed modules are eligible to apply for Higher Diploma Programmes.
  5. Preference will be given to applicants who are under relevant employment.

Holder of S7 Qualification :
One HKALE A-Level subject / Two AS-Level subjects at Grade E or above AND Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E / Level 2 or above, including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics; or Equivalent.
Remarks :
  1. Successful completion of one Applied Learning (ApL) course recognised by the Education Bureau in or before 2010 is deemed comparable to one HKCEE subject pass.
  2. HKCEE English Language taken in 2006 or before should have attained Grade E or above (Syllabus B) / Grade C or above (Syllabus A).
  3. Preference will be given to applicants who are under relevant employment.

Programme Aims
The programme aims to prepare students for technical, supervisory and managerial positions in the building industry. It aims to equip students with knowledge and skills required in the workplace, and to provide them with a foundation for personal development and further studies in the related occupational fields.

This programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.
Career Prospects
Graduates may take up supervisory and technical positions in the building industry, such as construction supervisors, technical officers, site agents, site engineers, project co-ordinators, quantity surveying officers, maintenance officers, etc.  They can pursue further study for career advancement to professional level.

Professional Recognition
The programme is widely accepted by the industry.  It is accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Hong Kong Institute of Clerks of Works as a required academic qualification for their Associate Membership.  Recognition from other relevant professional bodies will also be sought.
 
Graduates with relevant work experience is eligible to become Grades T1 to T3 of Technically Competent Person (TCP) of specific streams and scopes under the Site Supervision Plan System of the Buildings Ordinance.
 
Graduates completed the required module of the programme will be issued with Green Cards which fulfills the Mandatory Basic Safety Training requirement for working in construction sites.
