Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language, and HKDSE Mathematics at Level 1 or above; OR

The programme aims to nurture students’ development skills of hardware and software like microcontroller systems, programming of computers and mobile devices, and networks.
This programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.
Graduates may be employed as assistant engineers or technicians in areas like development of microcontroller systems, programming of computers and mobile devices, and network design. After gaining a few years of working experience, graduates may advance to management position in the industry.
Graduates can apply for admission to the relevant BEng (Hons) degree programmes offered by the local universities. Upon admission to relevant degree programmes, graduates can apply for credit exemption. The level of exemption will be considered on individual basis by respective universities.
This Higher Diploma programme is recognised by overseas universities for admission. Graduates can further their studies on a part-time basis for a BEng (Hons) degree in Electronic Engineering offered by the University of Sheffield Hallam, UK (18-months part-time programme study in Hong Kong in collaboration with SHAPE of VTC).
The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers has granted full recognition to this programme as satisfying the academic requirements for its Associate membership.
